Milind Soman does it again. He is one ruthless guy hell bent on proving that age is just a number. Milind defies all conventional stigma attached to aging and has given a whole new meaning to the phrase “aging gracefully”. The 51 year old swimmer-turned-model-turned-actor is a freak of nature and we have reason to call him that. In 2015, Soman successfully finished the Iron Man competition, which is one of the most challenging triathlons of the world in Sweden held in 2015.
This year he decided to take it a notch higher and completed the even more arduous Ultraman challenge in Florida.
Just to give you an idea, Ultraman comprises of a 3-day endurance track.
- The first day consists of 10 km of open water swimming and a 148 kilometre bike ride.
- The second day involves a 276 kilometre bike ride.
- The third day of the event one has to run a stretch of 84 km.
I mean, at 51, how does this guy do it!
As if the contest wasn’t tough enough in itself, Milind was the only competitor to do it barefoot. He took 34 hours and 46 minutes to complete the race. A happy and humble Milind Soman wrote on facebook about his latest achievement and his feelings:
In the present age of balloon body builders and 8 pack abs, Milind is a beacon of hope to inspire the Indian youth towards the more meaningful pursuits of holistic health, strength and endurance. When it is about fitness and strength Milind Soman leaves no stones unturned. He is truly THE man!
